Derek Hough’s and Julianne Hough’s homes
During the Disney Family Singalong on ABC, in April, Derek Hough, his girlfriend, dancer Hayley Erbert, and his sister, Julianne Hough, all performed the song “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast. Aside from their fun rendition of the beloved song, fans who tuned in got the added bonus of peeking inside their homes. The spot begins with Derek and Erbert dancing in their dining room, and Julianne later appears via FaceTime. Both siblings’ decor caught our eye, and interestingly, showed their distinct aesthetics. Derek’s place has a more modern vibe, and his dining room, which has open shelving over a black cabinet and a long wooden table, is especially stylish. Julianne’s kitchen, meanwhile, is trendy-traditional, with blue cabinetry and a white subway tile backsplash.
Tracee Ellis Ross’s blue living room
Multiple times during quarantine, the star of The High Note has filmed herself working out or dancing in her living room. Uniquely, the space is painted a navy blue hue all over, even on the ceiling and crown molding. A light hardwood floor and big windows help make the effect feel cozy as opposed to cramped.
Taylor Swift’s watercolor wallpaper
Wallpaper has been steadily gaining popularity in recent years, especially mural-like prints, chinoiserie, and bold, unexpected patterns from places like Cole & Son and de Gournay. And during Global Citizen’s One World: Together at Home concert, in April, Taylor Swift showed she’s a fan of the statement wall, singing in front of wallpaper resembling a watercolor painting featuring pink water lilies.
Jimmy Fallon’s whimsical beach house
Since New York City was first shut down in March, The Tonight Show host has been broadcasting from his home in the Hamptons, and his space has made quite a splash with fans. Fallon has all kinds of quirky accoutrements, from artwork purchased on eBay and at flea markets to an orange slide running through the house! Like Swift, Fallon is also a fan of bold wallpaper. In one room the walls are covered in what looks like birch bark, and in another (above) there’s a fun abstract pattern.
Jada Pinkett Smith’s carved kitchen island
The Red Table Talk host took her workout to Instagram recently, sharing a video of herself doing exercises on her wooden kitchen floor. Behind her, the bottom of her island is visible, and you can see that it is decorated with intricately carved wood panels. While it isn’t totally clear if the Moroccan-inspired room is in the same house of Pinkett Smith’s that AD toured in 2011, it looks quite similar, though it appears a lighter-color paint has since been applied to the panels.
