Jason Manford says he’ll only go on I’m A Celebrity if Tiger King’s Carole Baskin does

Jason Manford has revealed that he would only take part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! if Tiger King star Carole Baskin was taking part.

The 39-year-old comedian made the admission about the Ant and Dec hosted show on his Absolute Radio show on Sunday.

And Jason insisted that he has to have the same pay as the Big Cat Rescue founder before he’d consider heading into the Australian jungle.

Carole, 59, shot to fame as she appeared alongside nemesis Joe Exotic in Netflix series Tiger King, where she was controversially accused of murdering her ex-husband Don Lewis, which she vehemently denies.

It’s since been reported that Carole has been offered a hefty sum of money by I’m A Celebrity bosses  to become a contestant on the ITV show.

A TV source told The Sun: ‘Jungle producers have made a formal approach and hope she will do it.’

And it appears that Jason believes that Carole would make the perfect camp mate in the jungle as he discussed the idea of heading into the jungle.

Speaking on his show alongside Steve Edge over the weekend, the TV star had been discussing encounters with wild animals, when a caller rang in and shared their experiences with lion cubs.

This then led to the subject of leopard-print loving Carole and the rumours she could be heading down under.

Jason said: ‘If Carole Baskin ends up in the jungle, I might sign up!’

However, Jason later insisted that he’d only do the show if he was paid the same about of money as the Netflix star.

Speaking about his effort, he said: ‘Massive thanks to Iceland who have offered me this opportunity to not just deliver some food to their loyal customers, but also for making a generous donation to charities that are close to my heart.’

In exchange for his valued contribution, Iceland has also made a donation to Jason’s charity of choice, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust. Based in Cheshire, the charity provides holidays and days out for terminally ill, disabled or disadvantaged children from across the North West of England.

Richard Walker, Managing Director at Iceland, said: ‘Everyone at Iceland is extremely grateful for Jason’s contribution today and he has certainly helped to lift spirits with our customers and heroic colleagues…

During his shift, Jason surprised workers at The Bread and Butter Thing charity in Trafford Park, Manchester with £500 worth of groceries.

It comes a month after the supermarket offered him a job after his application to work as a driver for Tesco was rejected – a decision he claimed to be ‘livid’ about.
